    Assessed Value Increases

    On Homestead Properties the assessed value increases of 10% per year are mandatory per Texas
    Property Tax Code 23.23 until the assessed value is equal to market value.
    Texas Property Tax Code can ONLY be changed by Texas Legislature.

Appraisal Notices to be mailed soon.
Once mailed, notices and value will be available via the property search.
They will NOT be available until this time.

If you disagree with the proposed value or any other action the appraisal district may have taken on your property, you may visit the
BELTON office (411 E. Central Ave, Belton, TX) during our unscheduled first come, first served walk-in period.
The last day of the walk-in period is May 1st, 2026
Our staff is available to discuss your property concerns Monday-Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm), with limited availability during lunch.
Daily customer volume may limit the number of properties seen per visit and property owners able to meet with appraiser.

If you are unable to resolve the situation with the appraisal district, you have the right to file a protest and receive a
formal hearing with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB)

Requirements:
Qualifying Exemptions: Residential Homestead – Disabled Person – Age 65 or Older (or Surviving Spouse) – 100% Disabled Veteran (or Surviving Spouse) – Surviving Spouse of Armed Services Member Killed in Action – Surviving Spouse of First Responder Killed in the line of Duty – Donated Residence of Partially Disabled Veteran (or Surviving Spouse)
Must have: Updated Drivers License or Texas ID – Disabled Person: Social Security Admin letter or A&B Card – Disabled Vet:  CURRENT OR RECENTLY RECEIVED Awards letter from VA

***Note: options MAY be available, if filing after April 30th – Please file an application, the CAD will provide any legislative remedies, once approved***

Chief Appraiser may request updated applications when necessary.

Payment Processing Time – please allow up to 21 days. Check Property Search for daily payment status.
