Homestead Exemption CAP
vs
Assessed Value Increases
Appraisal Notices to be mailed soon.
Once mailed, notices and value will be available via the property search.
They will NOT be available until this time.
This note will be updated to reflect when they are available.
If you disagree with the proposed value or any other action the appraisal district may have taken on your property, you may visit the BELTON office (411 E. Central Ave, Belton, TX) during our unscheduled first come, first served walk-in period.
The last day of the walk-in period is May 1st, 2026
Our staff is available to discuss your property concerns Monday-Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm), with limited availability during lunch. Daily customer volume may limit the number of properties seen per visit and property owners able to meet with appraiser. If you are unable to resolve the situation with the appraisal district, you have the right to file a protest and receive a formal hearing with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB)
On Homestead Properties, the assessed value increases of 10% per year are mandatory per Texas Property Tax Code 23.23 until the assessed value is equal to market value. Texas Property Tax Code can ONLY be changed by Texas Legislature. Click here for more information
